Total Absence Management

Reduce the administrative burden associated with employee absence, and ensure employees receive the correct amount of leave time.

Carewise Total Absence Management provides administration of federal and state family medical leave (FML), as well as employer-specific leave policies. In addition to FML, Carewise Total Absence Management administers all types of employee leave, including jury duty, military service, and sabbaticals.

Leave intake and processing. Carewise Health streamlines the intricate aspects of FML, short-term disability, long-term disability and workers’ compensation by coordinating them on one system. All leave requests are processed based on the employee’s eligibility and the employer’s plan, and in compliance with federal regulations. Requests are automatically entered into the system, and confirmation communications are generated on the following business day to the employee and employer.
Automated tracking and records management. In accordance with statutory record retention requirements, Carewise Health maintains complete records of leave activity. Reports are distributed weekly and bi-weekly for new leave requests, current rosters of leaves-in-progress, leave denials, and leave closures.
Integration with health management. Carewise Total Absence Management can be linked to other Carewise Health solutions to support employee health during absences from work.
Self-service Web tool. Employers and employees have online access to leave information. They may enter new leave requests, check the status of existing leave requests, verify job protection, and submit or verify return-to-work dates.

Carewise Health is marketed by SHPS, Inc, a provider of integrated health solutions. Since 1994, SHPS has served wholesale and retail customers with absence management services. An in-house compliance legal team monitors U.S. Department of Labor regulations to stay apprised of federal leave law updates, and changes are incorporated into the Carewise Total Absence Management solution.
