Carewise Health, Inc. announced today that a new ownership group has acquired all the operating assets from WCAS, a New York-based private equity firm.

Upon the change of ownership, Merle A. Ryland was appointed President and CEO. Mr. Ryland commented, “We are pleased to have the opportunity to significantly enhance the care management and payment integrity offerings of Carewise to a broad market of health plans, employers, unions, government and provider health systems. We look to make specific improvements in the technology infrastructure and analytics used in improving health outcomes and impacting the cost curve for our customers.” Carewise intends to expand their operating footprint in Louisville given the depth of health care resources available to companies headquartered in Louisville and Kentucky, as well as retaining their offices in Scottsdale, AZ, and Minneapolis, MN. No other changes were announced. The new ownership group is composed of four long-time health care and technology executives.
